World Congress of Audiology (WCA)

The ISA are the custodians of the WCA which takes place every second year. One of our Affiliate members are selected to host the event 6 years in advance.

The 2024 WCA organized by Professor Hung Thai Van and his team was a resounding success attended by 1976 delegates from 115 countries over 5 continents supported by 90 sponsors.

The Computational Audiology Network are thrilled to share the success of our World Congress of Audiology (WCA) 2024 experience in Paris! This year marked our first in-person CAN gathering and a very well-received Special Session on Computational Audiology.  Click here to visit the CAN website.

Professor Jong Woo Chung and team are busy with preparations for the 37th WCA which takes place at the Coex centre, Seoul, Korea from 24- 27 May 2026. Start making plans to attend this special event that has “Broadening the Horizon of Audiology” as the theme. Click here to visit the 37th WCA website.

Professor Kevin Munro and his team have the framework in place for the 38th WCA which takes place in Edinburgh, Scotland from the 23-26 April 2028.

Dr Barbra Timmer and her team from Audiology Australia were announced last week as the successful bidder for the 39th WCA which will take place in Sydney from 5-8 May 2030. Click here to watch the 2030 bid video.

Working Groups

The ISA as the Global Home of Audiology facilitates the establishment and development of working groups. Current groups include the Computational Audiology Network, Hearing in Later Life and Global Audiology. Click here to visit the ISA website for more information on the groups.

Lucretia Peterson (UCT, SA) and others have expressed an interest in setting up a new working group on ‘Global equity’. The purpose of the working group is to have conversations on global perspectives, different service delivery models and what can be learned from each other. The working group, chaired by Lucretia Peterson will meet 3 times per year online. Recordings of the meeting will made available to ISA members to allow offline discussions. Persons interested to join this working group should make themselves known to the community manager by e-mailing gd@e2.co.za with the words Global equity in the subject line.

The Global Audiology initiative is aimed at providing an understanding of audiology education and practice around the world. The goal of the information provided is to facilitate networking among stakeholders in hearing health as well as help promote the development of audiology in settings where fewer resources are available. Events

November 16, 2024

The B-Audio Congress takes place in Rue de la Science 14B, Brussels. There will be two invited speakers (Inga Holube, Jade Hochschule (Germany) and Marieke van Wier, UMC Amsterdam (the Netherlands)), oral presentations clustered in five sessions and about 16 posters from colleagues and audiology students.
