The ISA is constituted as a corporate body within the meaning of Article 60 et seq, of the Swiss Civil Code, registered in the Swiss register du Commerce de Genève.

The ISA Statutes were designed to facilitate the knowledge, protection and rehabilitation of human hearing, inclusive of the effects of pharmacological and surgical measures, but exclusive of matters relating to the technique of these measures. They serve as an advocate for the profession and for those with hearing loss throughout the world.
